A Da Liu Ren chart organizes a chosen casting moment into linked components. For a first reading, identify the time, heaven-earth plates, four lessons and three transmissions before interpreting any labels as a story about your question.

## A casting moment, not a birth chart

The Da Liu Ren tool asks for a casting date and clock time. This is different from the birth information used by BaZi or Zi Wei Dou Shu. Do not put your birthday in the time field simply because the surrounding site also offers natal charts.

Keep one concrete question beside the chosen moment. A practical example is “What should I examine before following up on this delayed project?” The chart is a traditional symbolic framework for that question; it cannot establish what a colleague privately thinks.

## Locate the plates before reading individual symbols

The heaven and earth plates organize branch positions and their relationships for the cast. The monthly general is one of the calculated components involved in constructing the plate. “General” here is a technical label, not a person advising you.

Read the names printed on your result instead of assuming every diagram starts at the same visual position. Two interfaces can draw the same underlying arrangement differently. A screenshot without its date and labels is not enough for a reliable comparison.

## Treat the four lessons as related pairings

The four lessons are calculated pairings built from the cast’s day information and plate relationships. They are not four cards randomly drawn from a deck. Begin by copying the pair shown for each lesson in the order the result gives it.

At this stage, the useful question is “Which component relates to which?” rather than “Is my entire situation good or bad?” A single unfamiliar symbol does not need to become an immediate judgment. Reading the calculation and interpreting it are separate tasks.

## Read the three transmissions as an ordered sequence

The three transmissions are an ordered set selected through the method’s rules. They are commonly discussed as initial, middle and final transmissions. The sequence provides a structure for an interpretation, not a verified timeline of three future events.

For a teaching exercise, label three empty boxes “initial”, “middle” and “final”, then copy only the displayed transmission in each. Next add any accompanying general or relationship label shown by the tool. Keeping these fields separate makes it easier to see which one an explanation is using.

## A manageable first pass through the result

You do not need to memorize the whole system to check whether an explanation refers to the actual chart. Work through one layer at a time.

1. Confirm the casting date and local clock fields.
2. Locate the monthly general and the plate labels.
3. Read the four lessons in the displayed order.
4. Read the initial, middle and final transmissions separately.
5. Ask an interpretation to name the component behind each claim.
6. Compare any suggested practical step with information outside the chart.

## When results or interpretations differ

Check the exact input moment and the stated calculation conventions first. Do not compare charts cast on different days as though they were duplicates. If the underlying fields match but the explanation differs, you are comparing interpretations rather than detecting a calculation mismatch.

The companion time-input guide explains the distinction between a browser’s wall clock and a fully specified international time. This guide is an orientation to Multifate’s output, not a complete instruction in all Da Liu Ren schools or an assurance of predictive accuracy.
